Transocean wins $123 million ultra-deepwater drillship contract

Reliance Industries has awarded a binding Letter of Award to Transocean for the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 for six wells offshore India. The estimated 300-day program is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2026 and is estimated to contribute approximately $123 million in backlog, excluding additional services and a mobilization fee.The award also includes multiple options. PetroTal announces Bretaña field operational update

PetroTal commenced drilling Well 20H at the Bretaña field on July 26, 2024. The 20H well has allowed for the evaluation and testing of the upper Vivian formation sand (VS1), which for the first time will be jointly completed with the main Vivian 2 (VS2) sand.For background, the Vivian formation at Bretaña consists of two primary sand bodies. So far, PetroTal has only produced from the VS2 sand, where permeability is an order of magnitude greater than the VS1 sand. Khalda Oil Company, the joint venture of the Apache Corporation and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, has announced the discovery of new oil in the West Fewebs-1 area.The test was carried out at a 270-ft well drilling into the Paleozoic sand in the Kalabsha Development Area of the Western Desert. Velesto Energy has announced that it has completed its Mandatory Five Yearly Special Periodical Survey (SPS) for NAGA 2. The rig had been drydocked in Singapore since 24 June 2024. INPEX awarded exploration block offshore Western Australia

INPEX announced that its subsidiary INPEX Browse was awarded an exploration permit over Release Area AC22-1, now named AC/P71 (the Block) in Australia’s 2022 Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release. INPEX Browse will be Operator and hold 100% working interest in the title.The Block is located off the northern coast of Western Australia and covers a surface area of approximately 920 sq km, in water depths ranging between approximately 100-300 m.
