ADNOC drills 50,000-ft well at Upper Zakum Concession
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) says that it has drilled a world record for the longest oil and gas well, drilling a 50,000-ft well at its Upper Zakum Concession. According to ADNOC, the well is approximately 800 feet longer than the previous world record set in 2017. Seadrill finalizes sale of seven jackups to ADES
Seadrill has completed a sale, previously announced on 1 September, with ADES of the entities that own and operate seven jackups in Saudi Arabia. The AOD I, AOD II, AOD III, West Callisto, West Ariel, West Cressida and West Leda jackups are now owned by ADES, and ADES employs the crews operating the rigs and holds the drilling contracts related to the rigs. The total consideration for the sale is $628 million in cash, subject to adjustment for working capital and other items, and reimbursement to Seadrill for any project costs spent in relation to the reactivation of the West
Keppel to begin charters for four jackups in Saudi Arabia
Keppel Corp has completed the modification works for four KFELS B Class jackups which will be deployed on bareboat charters in Saudi Arabia this month. The rigs are being chartered in pairs to Arabian Drilling Company (ADC) and ADES Saudi Limited Company (ADES) respectively and are expected generate a total charter revenue of about S$250 million over three to five years.The rigs chartered to ADC, ARABDRILL110 and ARABDRILL 120, were handed over on 13 October. Dolphin Drilling announced it has secured a 12-month contract with Nigeria-based General Hydrocarbons Limited (GHL) at a value of $96 million.The contract for the Blackford Dolphin will commence during Q4 this year. Maersk Drilling awarded contract offshore Brazil with Shell
Maersk Drilling has secured a contract from Shell for its Maersk Developer semisubmersible in the Campos basin offshore Brazil, where the rig will drill one exploration well and perform subsea well interventions at the BC-10 field.
