Wire rope grease is made of organic thickener group and high viscosity refined mineral oil, and added with anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion(766), anti-rust, anti-extreme pressure and other additives refined. Since the steel wire rope has been pre-lubricated in the manufacturing process, the steel wire rope surface grease is mainly used to reduce the friction between the steel wire rope, the steel wire rope and the equipment and prevent corrosion, which requires the steel wire rope surface grease products should have the following technical properties:
1, excellent adhesion
It is required that the surface grease of the wire rope can adhere to the surface of the wire rope and is not sensitive to temperature changes, that is, it does not drop at high temperatures and has good pumping performance at low levels. High viscosity base oil is usually used for wire rope surface grease with high viscosity and adhesion requirements.
2, good penetration(782) performance
It can quickly penetrate into the inside of the rope core and between the wire rope strands, which can supplement the pre-grease lost during use and reduce the friction between the wire rope.
3, good anti-rust, anti-corrosion(782) performance
It can ensure that the wire rope used in the open air and port suspension bridge is free from moisture and salt spray erosion. It can effectively resist the corrosion of carbon dioxide (766), hydrogen sulfide and downhole compounds in the oilfield environment.
4, good extrusion anti-wear performance
Under medium and heavy load conditions, oil film can be formed on the surface of the wire rope to reduce friction and extend the service life of the wire rope.
In addition, in some special working conditions, some steel wire rope surface grease also needs to have the following special technical properties:
1, oil fields, port machinery and other users require that the surface grease of the wire rope should be environmentally friendly and degradable (782), and no pollution to the working environment.
