The digital workflows will use the OSDU Data Platform standards to improve the positive customer experience by increasing efficiency and collaboration while producing better insights for Shell and the energy industry.“Cloud-based computer power and reliable, available OSDU Technical Standard-compliant data will be a foundation for efficient subsurface workflows and

API: Vessel restrictions would reduce GOM energy production by nearly 25% by 2040

The American Petroleum Institute (API) has released analysis outlining the potential consequences of new vessel restrictions on American oil and gas workers in the US Gulf of Mexico (GOM). The study, conducted by the Energy and Industrial Advisory Partners, finds that the recently proposed restrictions on oil and natural gas vessels operating in the GOM would have a major impact on oil and natural gas production in the region. This would result in a nearly one-quarter decline, or more than 500,000 bbl/day of oil equivalent, in energy production in the GOM by 2040.The analysis was submitted to the National Marine

Baker Hughes lands two major contracts from Vår Energi in Norway

Baker Hughes received two awards from Vår Energi that will expand its regional presence in the North Sea for exploration logging, well intervention technology and subsea production systems. The first, a nine-year contract, reflects Baker Hughes’ heightened well intervention capabilities since acquiring Altus Intervention in April 2023. As part of the contract, Baker Hughes will also supply all exploration logging solutions to help Vår Energi further develop their prospects in the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The second contract is to deliver a bespoke Balder field vertical tree system, a Baker Hughes technology selected for the complexities of this field. This agreement spans 15

ADNOC takes FID to develop CCUS project with 1.5 mtpa capacity

ADNOC has announced a final investment decision (FID) to develop one of the largest carbon capture projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The Habshan carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) project will have the capacity to capture and permanently store 1.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of CO2 within geological formations deep underground.Today’s announcement is part of ADNOC’s wider carbon management strategy, which aims to create a unique platform that connects all the sources of emissions and sequestration sites to accelerate the delivery of ADNOC and the UAE’s decarbonization goals. As part of this strategy, the

APA, TotalEnergies begin engineering studies for Suriname’s Block 58

APA Corp and TotalEnergies have launched development studies for a large oil project in Block 58 offshore Suriname. TotalEnergies is the operator of Block 58, with a 50% interest, alongside APA’s 50%.Successful appraisal of the two main oil discoveries, with the drilling and testing of two wells at Sapakara South and three wells at Krabdagu, confirmed combined recoverable resources of approximately 700 million bbl of oil for the two fields. These fields, located in water depths between 100 m and 1,000 m, will be produced through a system of subsea wells connected to a floating production, storage and offloading unit
